FAA announces new minimum standards for retro-reflectivity of markings
The FAA recently released Advisory Circular No: 150/5370-10H made a significant change to the reflectivity requirements in Item P-620 Runway and Taxiway Markings. Is your airport in compliance?
Minimum reflectivity standards at installation have been part of P-620 since the release of AC No: 150/5370-10G in July of 2014. However, the latest Advisory Circular now provides guidance and minimum standards for reflectivity for remarking. Regardless of bead type, minimum standards for remarking have been incorporated into the specification, along with installation values as illustrated below.
Do you have a plan to measure and catalog markings reflectance? Are you prepared for your next FAA inspection? Do you know if your markings meet the new FAA minimum retro-reflectivity standards as outlined in the revised FAA P-620 specification?
The Spec-Rite team can measure retroreflectivity across your airfield timely and efficiently. The results will be on Spec-Rite software platform.
