Give Your Crews Advanced Safety and Protection with Spec-Rite Online’s WAZE Integration

National Work Zone Awareness Week (NWZAW) will take place April 11-15, 2022. NWZAW is a nationwide event in the USA, with partnerships between state departments of transportation (DOT), national road safety organizations, government agencies, private companies and individuals. Its origins began in 1997 in Virginia, and in 1999, ATSSA, FHWA, and AASHTO officially created the NWZAW. The theme for 2022 is Drive Safe. Work Safe. Save Lives.

Skip-Line supports work zone and roadside safety by providing awareness of real-time roadmarking operations by digitally connecting this information to navigation systems. Using Skip-Line’s data management system, road crews are able to enjoy advanced safety and protection by delivering real-time notifications to approaching drivers through navigation systems. This is accomplished via WAZE and the Google Maps platforms.

The Waze feature is easy to enable on the equipment.

Enable Waze in three easy steps

  1. Log in to Spec-Rite Online
  2. Navigate to Equipment Tab
  3. Click the location icon to enable location services on your road marking equipment
  4. Click “Accept” to connect your device with Waze

As part of NWZAW, we’re bringing the Hydration Pack back! This pack includes hats, safety t-shirts, and water bottles. We will be giving the hydration pack away to a Skip-Times subscriber on April 29, 2022. To enter, subscribe to the Skip-Times.
